General guidelines for the course
The course is designed for students to study, synthesize, and present the recent progress and argument developed for a specific topic related to earth sciences. Therefore, the presentation is not simply a one-way knowledge transfer to the other students.
Each team should decide two topics the team members are interested in. Then the team should identify the main arguments the team wants to address and studies different aspects for the specific topic.
The topic has to be related to themes, including geoenergy, georesources, geohazards, geoforensics and geoarchaeaology. Each team has to choose two topics belonging to two themes for presentation, one in the first half and the other in the second half semester.
Two persons per team (sign it up today)
Each team has to study at least two English, peer-reviewed, recent (within 10 years) papers per team member for individual presentation (meaning you need to find at least 8 papers in total). Technical report, news report and thesis are not qualified as materials for presentation.
Each presentation should be accompanied with a written report during the mid-term and final.
